Primary School

Natura Education offers a variety of activities with work booklets, assessment items and education material that include an environment-themed take home message for the students. This service includes an introduction into a specific topic relating to the natural environment and/ or personal development for students in years 1 to 7 (Qld) or 1 to 6 (NSW). All our programs have been developed to satisfy existing essential learnings (syllabus outcomes).

Together we explore topics such as aboriginal culture, rainforests, animal life and conservation. Along with our work booklets and assessmnet items, some important educational tools that Natura Education utilises to explore these topics include activities such as:

  • sustainability assessments
  • tree planting
  • biodiversity assessments
  • the private life of plants
  • community gardens
  • catchment crawls
  • water quality testing
  • water conservation
  • mini beasts and life in the undergrowth
  • art in the park
  • geology and geography studies

Activity durations can include short presentations, ½ day or full day programs. Activities are offered in class, on the school grounds, at a local park or waterway or at a specific excursion location.  For example, we can do an in class presentation or even join your year camp to run an activity on one day.  The type of program can differ according to the theme or learning topic the teacher and class is interested in (e.g. marine ecosystems, mangroves, terrestrial systems etc.). Programs are run during school days at times that are convenient for the teacher and class.
