Natura Education offers an extensive variety of guided programs with work booklets and education material that include an environment-themed take home message for the students. This service includes an introduction into a specific topic relating to the natural environment and/ or personal development for students in years 1 to 7 (Qld) or 1 to 6 (NSW). All our programs have been developed to satisfy existing essential learnings (syllabus outcomes). After contacting Natura Education to develop a tailored program to suit your specific requirements, a Teachers' Handbook will be sent to you several weeks before the field visit, including an optional basic pre-field visit classroom activity and a list of standards to measure the performance of students (in the form of observation and assessment).

Together we explore topics such as aboriginal culture, rainforests, animal life and conservation. Along with our work booklets, some important educational tools that Natura Education utilises to explore these topics include activities such as:

  • Bird watching and identification
  • The life of pants
  • Water & soil quality testing
  • water conservation
  • Geology and geography studies
  • Bush foods identification and medicine
  • Night spotlighting
  • Insect life in the undergrowth
  • Teamwork building
  • Adventure activities (abseiling & ropes course)

Excursion durations can comprise of one ½ day, 1 full day or 2x ½ day activities (over one or two days as requested by the teacher and class) in situ to a specific destination offered by Natura Ecotours. The type of program can differ according to the theme or learning topic the teacher and class is interested in (e.g. marine ecosystems, mangroves, terrestrial systems etc.). Programs are run during school days at times that are convenient for the teacher and class.
